About

What is Coaching?

The International Coach Federation defines coaching as “partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximise their personal (and professional) potential.” Further, I recently asked one of my clients to describe my role as their coach. They said, helping people to find their own solutions to their deepest concerns in a safe, calm and engaging atmosphere.” So, as your coach, you and I will work together with a focus on empowerment, creating change and moving forward.

My role is to help you not only see your potential, but achieve what matters most to you.

about your coach

Hi, I’m Laura Teare-Jones. I’m 32 and live in North Wales with my husband, Gareth, and our little girl, Joy.

In 2014, after losing three stone, I decided to train as a weight-loss coach for a global weight-loss and wellness company. I adored coaching because, quite simply, there’s nothing like seeing a person start to walk taller each week as their confidence grows.

Since getting my PMDD diagnosis in 2019, I’ve become increasingly involved in the conversations around hormones and health. I lived with PMDD for around fifteen years before finding out it was even a thing.

During that time, I suffered alone and blamed myself for what were actually symptoms of a real and very debilitating health condition. I released the My Hormones My Health podcast in 2020. I loved having candid conversations with others who understood what I was going through, but it made me think about all of the people living with PMDD who couldn’t talk about it or didn’t even understand their condition.

I knew that I wanted to do more in the hormone and health space, so when I was made redundant at the end of 2020, it was a natural transition to move toward using my skills and knowledge to assist other people who are trying to manage intense hormonal symptoms in an equally intense world.

I love promoting a positive self-image and fighting against the shame and stigma of periods and mental health. I believe the way to do this is by starting from the inside and working our way out: accepting, respecting, and even appreciating our imperfections as just another part of our amazing selves, and living the healthy and happy lifestyle that we deserve.

By working with me, you’ll take steps to live with more self-compassion while learning to prioritise your own needs and goals.

Is coaching for me?

The type of client I work with

  • Do you feel like you’re spinning too many plates? When you strip back your roles (Mum, partner, work colleague etc.), do you struggle to identify who you are?

  • Do you feel like you’re drifting, stuck in a rut, or wondering where to go next?

  • Do you have an idea or even a dream of what life could be like, but you struggle to focus on it enough to take action?

  • Do you end up falling to the back of the queue?

If you have answered yes to any of these questions, coaching could be for you. My role is to hold space for YOU away from life’s distractions, meeting where you are right now and helping you to get where you want to be.

As a hormone and life coach, my role is to empower my clients to adopt a more positive relationship with themselves by learning self-compassion, remembering what matters most to them, and staying accountable to their goals. Whether you want to focus on accepting yourself or work on more specific areas such as managing employment, relationships, or a healthy lifestyle, I’ll hold the space and opportunity for you to realise your own answers.

My Mission: To empower people to live with more self-compassion, and work towards achieving what matters most to them.
